| Are the chemical sprays safe for my kids and pets? | Yes, the pesticides used by Pesticom meet safety standards for child care centres, hospitals etc. However, in some cases such as external sprays, clients will be asked to stay inside the home or away from the area until completion. |
| Do we have to leave the house? | No, you do not need to leave the home. The treatments that we carry use products that have very little odour. However should you still be concerned about any special health concerns like Asthma, you should speak to the technician before the treatment begins. |
| What happens if it’s raining? | If it is raining we will not carry out a treatment as the chemicals are water-based and would not be effective. |
| How long will my termite inspection take? | A termite inspection will usually take between 1.5 and 2 hours. Any treatment carried out on top of the inspection could add another hour or two. |
| Do I need to empty the cupboards? | No, gone are the days where the client would have to remove everything from the cupboards before the technician arrived. |
| Will rats/mice die in the roof? | It is a possibility but very rare. Should this happen a fee will apply to return to remove the rodent and place a deodorizing bag in the area to get rid of the smell. If the smell is in the wall cavity unfortunately there is very little we can do but we will try our best to find a solution. |
| Why is your termite quote so different to other companies? | Pesticom recommends a long term approach to termite control. We always look at the bigger picture, not just a short term, quick fix which could ultimately end up costing you more if the treatment doesn't work. We recommend that you take the time to research the products each company says they will be using. It's better to be well informed so that you can make the right decision. |
| How often do I need to get a termite inspection? | The CSIRO recommends at least an annual termite inspection unless you are in a high-risk area where more frequent inspections are necessary. |
